The Mount Pleasant school's Wildcats won the Section 1 Class B football championship last fall and are regional champs as well, according to principal Keith Schenker.

Astorino, an alumnus of Westlake, declared Friday, Jan. 29, Westlake Football Day and posed for pictures with members of the football team that he then posted on Twitter. County Legislator Margaret A. Cunzio also congratulated the school and its team.

Schenker -- saying the school is "so proud of its football team" -- thanked Astorino and Cunzio Tuesday, Feb. 2, "for taking the time to acknowledge our student athletes."
