HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- Members from Crossfit XT in Hawthrone made it to the finish line in the Crossfit Open, hosted by Reebok for Crossfit enthusiasts around the world.
For five weeks in a row every Thursday night, a a workout was streamed live on the internet. All participants then had until the following Monday to perform that workout in front of a certified judge and submit their score.
At Crossfit XT, owners Anthony Botticelli and LaMar Wilcher, said the winners are
- Men's Divisions: The leaders were Jon Battista and Matt Carol,
- Women’s Division: The leaders were Meredith Anderson and Tori McGuinn.
- Teen’s Division: Brody McGuinn performed well enough to be ranked fifth in the North East Region.
Competitors had to deadlift a barbell with 205 lbs. – 55 times, then throw a 20 lb. medicine ball above a 10 foot high mark on the wall – 55 times, then burn 55 calories on a rowing machine, and finish up by performing 55 handstand push-ups.
