Chong, a freshman, has helped the top-ranked Huskies to a 16-0 record. Saturday’s game at Webster Bank Arena tips off at noon. The game in Bridgeport will be as close as Chong will get for Westchester fans for the rest of the season. The next closest venue is Hartford, where the Huskies have three games remaining.

Chong has played in all 16 games for the Huskies, averaging about 20 minutes per game. She is averaging 6.9 points per game and has added 24 assists and 12 steals.

She played 22 minutes and scored six points in UConn’s 90-40 win over Houston on Tuesday night. She made 2-of-6 field goal attempts and added two assists, one steal and a block.

Chong scored 16 points against Penn State in November game. She also scored 10 points and played 28 minutes in a 97-37 win over UC-Davis in December. She scored 15 points in a win over Boston in November, and added three steals and three assists.

“The thing that is unique about Saniya is she knows exactly what she is good at,’’ coach Geno Auriemma said after that game. “She knows exactly what she should do and she does it. She is not out there trying to reinvent the wheel every time she is on the floor. She knows when she is open she will make most of her three’s. She knows when she drives it she will finish somewhere around the basket. She knows when somebody steps on her, she knows which pass to throw. Not always, but most of the time.

"Not all of those things are taught … those are instinctive. She has great instincts. She has a great feel for the game. One that is more advanced for her age.”

Chong led Ossining to its first New York State Public Schools championship last year and was the National High School Coaches Association's national girls basketball Player of the Year .

Tickets for Saturday's game are available on the UConn women's basketball website.
