Gracie Thornwood Martial Artists Take Six Medals

THORNWOOD, N.Y. - The Gracie Thornwood martial arts team earned medals in six events Saturday in the New York Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu MMA Tournament at Nyack College.

Led by team captain Logan Rafter, of Tarrytown, who won a silver medal in the Intermediate Gi competition, the boys rolled through their respective divisions.

Carl Herzner, of Pleasantville, won two medals the Gi and No-Gi categories and Brody McGuinn, of Valhalla, topped two opponents en route to bringing home two silver medals. Aiden Morgan also of Valhalla, followed Rafter’s lead by taking a medal in the Beginner’s Gi Division.

Gracie Thornwood Coach and BBJ Black Belt Mike DeBiase trains his boys four to five days a week.
