Pace Volleyball Names New Recruits

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Five new recruits will be joining the Pace University's women's volleyball team in the fall, Head Coach Karrin Moore announced.

"I am really excited about the five incoming student athletes for 2013,” Moore said. “They will be a great addition to the solid foundation of hardworking returners. I expect them to challenge the current players, and am excited to see the competition level go up in the gym."

Miki Carver is from Oceanside, Calif. Carver held the record in assists at Broke Fallbrook High School and was named player of the game numerous times.

Ashley DiFulvio is from Lakewood, Colo. DiFulvio is a four-year all-conference selection, serving as team captain for three years and team MVP for two years at Dakota Ridge High School. DiFulvio set records in service aces, serving points and digs.

Samantha Harting is from Irvine, Calif. Harting's club team took third place at Northeast Qualifier in 2013.

Vy Tran is from Aurora, Colo. Tran is an all-state first team all-academic. Her team took third place at the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier in 2012 and fourth place in 2013. Her team qualified for the Juniors National Championships in 2012 and took second place at Atlanta's Big South National Qualifier in 2013.

Kayla Witwer is from Southlake, Tex. Witwer was team captain and team MVP. She was named the 2009 Best Offensive Player for a JV TEam

The volleyball team finished 2012 with a 17-18 overall record, taking sixth place in the NE-10.
