VALHALLA, N.Y. — Valhalla Vikings quarterback Miro Ronac rushed for 122 yards and two scores and threw two touchdown passes Friday in a 42-0 victory over visiting Yonkers Montessori Academy.
Ronac completed six of six passes for 86 yards and ignited a quick start as the Vikings, who evened their record at 1-1, scored 29 first-quarter points and led 42-0 at halftime.
“We didn't really make a lot of adjustments,” said Valhalla head coach Kevin Martins. “We did spread the ball out a little more. The main thing was confidence in what they were doing.”
Four players scored for the Vikings, compiling 281 yards of offense while shutting down the Yonkers-Montessori offense.
“There was no thinking, just playing and attacking,” Martins said. “It also helped that we got a few guys eligible, so we had good depth.”
Valhalla faces a tough challenge next week in a visit to Woodlands at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
