Sherman Park Opens Play In Little League East Regional

CRANSTON, R.I. — Sherman Park’s magical Little League baseball summer season opens play in the Little League Baseball Minor’s East Regional beginning Saturday afternoon.

Sherman Park, the New York State champion, opens against the New Jersey champion at 3:30 p.m. at Michael Varrato Field.

Sherman Park is grouped with New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland in the Mid-Atlantic bracket. The New England bracket is Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and host Rhode Island.

Sherman Park will play Delaware at 7:30 p.m. Monday; Pennsylvania at 5 p.m. Tuesday; and Maryland at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The top two teams in each bracket will play in the semifinals on Friday. The two winners will play for the East Region championship at 11 a.m. Saturday.
