ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert proved he was still a kid at heart, spending nearly two hours teaching and preaching basketball skills when his Citi Iman Shumpert Basketball ProCamp visited the House of Sports in Ardsley on Tuesday.

Shumpert, a first-round pick (No. 17 overall) in the 2011 National Basketball Association Draft, led 15 area coaches in the clinic attended by more than 100 boys and girls from first grade to 12th grade.

"I'll be out there with the whole time if you don't mind," Shumpert told the aspiring players. "I like to get in your face, play with you and maybe teach you some things I know."

The 6-foot-5 Shumpert said he was working hard, continuing to improve his offensive and defensive skills as the Knicks transition to a new era with General Manager Phil Jackson and rookie coach Derek Fisher in control and star Carmelo Anthony returning to after resigning as a free agent.

"It's great to have Melo (Anthony) back playing here and I am working hard to be ready to help this team get better," Shumpert said.

But Shumpert's focus was the kids at his clinic as he moved from group to group helping with passing, shooting, defensive and dribbling drills and working up a big sweat. He also took time to pose for team photos with all of the kids.

Event Administrator ProCamps, which develops, manages and operates sport camps fro professional athletes coordinated the clinic with House of Sports.

Each player received a camp T-Shirt and an autographed Iman Shumpert photo taken with each team.
