Tribble Scores 14 Points in Valhalla Loss

RYE BROOK, N.Y. – After Blind Brook closed out 2011 by beating Sleepy Hollow in the Slam-Dunk Boys Basketball Championships at the Westchester County Center, the Trojans were looking to kick off 2012 with a victory. Terrence Tribble paced Valhalla (5-3) with a game-high 14 points.

Not only were the Trojans planning to remain undefeated, they wanted to play well in preparation for their game on Saturday with Tuckahoe.

Blind Brook accomplished both tasks Wednesday in a 50-33 win over visiting Valhalla.

Antoine Saliba led Blind Brook (7-0) with 13 points, Jack Jamilkowski added 12 points and Sam Adler finished with 10.

“I thought it was a great idea and our first year playing in it,” said Saliba, who had seven points in the third quarter. “It was a good way for us to test ourselves and stay in the flow and it was an honor to play at the county center.”

Saliba was eager to play Valhalla. Now in his fourth varsity season, the senior forward pointed out that the teams have developed a rivalry.

“Valhalla is always a good team and over the years we have had some great battles with them,” Saliba said. “Starting with Valhalla, we realize we will be facing some very good teams so we want to be as good as we can be and put in an ‘A’ effort.”

Blind Brook led, 13-6, after the first quarter and went into halftime with a 30-16 advantage.
