The team capped off a remarkable 2015 fall season with a win over Westlake High School in mid-October.

Valhalla finished the year as the third-ranked team in New York State, boasting a record of 14 wins with one loss and one tie . The team also won every tournament that it participated in, including the Mount Pleasant Cup and the BroncoFest.

“We are all very proud,” said Coach Sandro Prosperino. “This didn’t happen overnight. They make it look easy, but there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes.”

During the off-season, the student-athletes spent plenty of time practicing and playing scrimmages to ensure that their skills remained at a high level.

Entering Sectionals, the Vikings are the top seed in Class B. While Sectional play begins on Oct. 23, Valhalla was given a first-round bye.

The team’s first game of Sectionals will be a home game in Viking Stadium on Oct. 26 against the winner of Blind Brook High School and Putnam Valley High School.
