VALHALLA, N.Y. ‒ The Valhalla High School football team made adjustments that paid off in a big way Saturday as it beat Blind Brook, 34-7, and moved into the winning column  after losing two of its first three games.

Quarterback Miro Ronac threw a touchdown pass to Tyquan Raines (103 receiving yards), and running back Terrence Tribble threw for one touchdown and ran for a second for the 3-2 Vikings.

Chris Artabane and Christian Alvarado each added a rushing touchdown for Valhalla, and linebacker Michael Linnane led the Vikings defense.

Valhalla has relied on a formidable defense, led by Jared Mason, Richard Lezcano, Linnane and Raines. The defense has allowed 57 points in five games, 40 of which came in a 40-2 loss to Class C power Woodlands. Valhalla has not allowed more than 10 points in any of its other four games.

The Vikings host unbeaten Rye Neck (5-0) Friday at 7 p.m. in the regular-season finale for both teams.
