Valhalla Youth Football Club Sweeps Westlake

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Valhalla Vikings Football Club hosted Mount Pleasant rival Westlake Wildcats Sunday at Valhalla High School with the home team earning neighborhood bragging rights with two victories in two age group divisions.

The first game pitted fifth and sixth grade players. Quarterback Brody McGuinn called signals for Valhalla with backfield mates of Joey Pecora, Mikey Ferrara and Anthony Demicelli lining up behind him in a 26-6 victory.

Louis DeCarlo played well on defense for Valhalla, forcing an early fumble that kept Westlake out of the end zone. Tailback Danny Grossman led the Wildcats on offense.

In the second game, Westlake’s third and fourth grade squad controlled the ball throughout the entire first quarter and scored first, early in the second period. Valhalla took over from there with Marco Vidicovic directing the attack and answered with a touchdown by Sebastian Pacheco.

Valhalla scored once more in the second half to stretch its lead to 19-6 and the Vikings’ defense kept Westlake off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
