VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Westchester Community College golfer Anthony Siguil was named Mid-Hudson Conference Athlete of the Week by the conference Monday for his performance on the golf course in the Ulster Community College Tournament in Kingston on April 16.
Siguil, a sophomore and graduate of New Rochelle High School, shot a 79 on the 6,575-yard Wiltwyck Golf Club Course, which was the low score of the day and gave him the top spot in the tournament. Siguil played the first nine holes in 41 strokes and the back nine in 38.
Siguil defeated Colby Lewis, of Rockland Community College, the defending Conference Most Valuable Player, by five strokes at the Ulster CC tournament.
Siguil was a member of the New Rochelle High School golf team before moving on to Westchester Community College in 2011.
