Westlake Cheerleading Team to Hold Clinic

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – The Westlake High School cheerleading team is offering a chance for local children to train and learn from the girls before the team takes off for its national competition.

The team is holding a clinic on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Westlake Middle School gymnasium.  All cheerleaders in grades one through six are encouraged to attend.  Registration is $20 and can be paid on the day of the clinic.  Payments may be made in cash or in checks made out to Westlake Cheerleading.

Registered cheerleaders will learn tumbles, stunts, and routines throughout the class that will be showcased for parents in the last 15 minutes of the clinic.  All participants are required to wear proper athletic apparel and a snack will be provided.

The proceeds raised from the clinic will go towards the costs of sending the team to Orlando in February in order to attend the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition.  The Wildcats qualified for the tournament after placing first in the Empire Regional Competition held at Hofstra University.

For more information on the clinic, contact head coach Lauren McNamara at WestlakeCheerleading@gmail.com or at 914-469-3443.
