MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Westlake High School senior Megan O'Connor will play soccer for the Jaspers at Manhattan College in the fall.
“Megan has complete control of the field offensively, reading the game beautifully," said coach Loredana Uguccioni. "She orchestrates her offense, knowing where her teammates will be.”
The varsity forward/midfielder co-captain has been the team leader in assists for the past two years and is one of the Westlake Wildcat's top goal scorers.
She has received All-League, All-Section Honorable Mention and All-Section recognition. O'Connor was named an All-Tournament player at the Mount Pleasant Cup and Bronxville tournaments.
O''Connor also plays forward for the New York Soccer Club, which competes all over the country. The team won the Disney Classic championship the past two years and trained at London's Chelsea Soccer Academy this past year. They competed and won the Arsenal Cup while in London.
"Megan has demonstrated leadership both on and off the field,” said Uguccioni. “She has been a role model for the players that follow in her footsteps."
