Mill Street Loft Presents Students' 'Senior Project' Exhibit POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Mill Street Loft will host an opening reception on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 2-4 p.m. for the "Senior Project: Into the Unknown" exhibit at Gallery 45, 45 Pershing Ave., Poughkeepsie. Artist and educator Rick Price will be the moderator for a panel discussion with the Senior Project students. Price will explore why artists chose to take on such a difficult task, what their future goals are, and their personal stories about the process. High school students were selected to participate in the Senior Project during a rigorous interview process held in September. …

Ossining Students Learn About New Tappan Zee Bridge OSSINING, N.Y. -- One of the first things teacher Micki Lockwood did in her fourth-grade enrichment class at Ossining's Claremont School one day in November was to check the New NY Bridge website.She pulled up a photo of the new construction viewing platform in Rockland County and demonstrated how children could compare current and past webcam views to monitor the bridge’s progress. Stamford Police Ticket Driver In Pedestrian Accident STAMFORD, Conn. -- A woman who hit a pedestrian with her car Tuesday in downtown Stamford was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield to a pedestrian, according to the Stamford Advocate website. She hit a 50-year-old man with her car while he was crossing Washington Boulevard at North State Street, the report said. Irvington Fifth-Graders Discuss Book With Students From Around The World IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Students at Irvington's Main Street School who are reading “The Not Perfect Hat Club” are discussing it with peers from around the world. For the global project, fifth-graders in Susan Wallace’s class are using their new ChromeBooks to blog with students from Argentina.
