Putnam Dancers Take 2nd Place In National Dance Competition BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Dancers from the Seven Star School performance team recently competed at the American Dance Awards National Dance Competition in New York City. "We had such a great experience at nationals this year," said Jaclyn Yarusso, performance team co-director. Putnam Humane Society Hosting Clear The Shelter Day CARMEL, N.Y. -- Putnam Humane Society will offer pet adoption fee discounts for Clear the Shelter Day on Saturday, July 23. Adoption fees for dogs one year or older and cats at least six months old will be reduced by 50 percent. All adoptions include spaying or neutering, rabies and distemper vaccinations, a free vet visit, microchipping and more. Clear the Shelter Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for dogs and until 4:15 p.m. for cats. Putnam Humane Society is located at 68 Old Route 6.

Monroe Police Officer Teaches Law Enforcement Lessons At Camp MONROE, Conn. -- Officer Omar Wahib of the Monroe Police Department recently visited Camp Courant in Farmington for Law Enforcement Day. According to Fox 61, more than 100 officers from across the Nutmeg State talked with the kids at camp and offered a look at what it's like to be a police officer.
