Car Strikes Deer On I-684

Motorists aren't the only ones rushing around area roadways at the start of Thanksgiving Eve Day.

A deer was struck by a car on southbound I-684 on Wednesday morning just before 10 a.m., slowing down traffic near the junction of Route 35 and the Saw Mill River Parkway in Bedford.

The car, which sustained heavy damage, is on the right shoulder.

Despite the incident, traffic is moving well so far on area roadways despite rain, which has been heavy in some spots.

The showers and rain should wind down by noontime with gradual clearing and a high temperature in the low-50s.

Thanksgiving Day will be sunny and colder with a high in the low-40s and wind-chill values between 25 and 35.

Black Friday will see sunny skies once again with high temperatures in the mid-40s.
