MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - Traffic was temporarily slowed on the Taconic Parkway on Wednesday afternoon, after two cars got into an accident on the slick roadway, crashing into a street sign.

On Wednesday afternoon, first responders were dispatched to the Cleveland Street intersection of the Taconic Parkway, following multiple reports of a multi-vehicle accident that left two vehicles inoperable.

According to officials, fire units arrived at the scene at approximately noon on Wednesday, where they found one car crashed into a tree and the other through a one-way sign that was installed on the corner.

Units helped stabilize the vehicles and spread quick dry to absorb fluids that had spilled onto the roadway as a result of the crash. The Valhalla Volunteer Ambulance Corps. assisted one of the drivers, who suffered minor injuries but ultimately refused medical attention. Members of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Westchester EMS and Valhalla Fire Department assisted at the scene until the New York State Police arrived to tow away the vehicles.
