The week’s Drought Monitor shows 24 percent of the Northeast is abnormally dry compared to 38 percent last week, the center added.

Although no water restrictions have officially been announced, residents can help ease the drought by limiting the amount of water they use, especially outdoors, such as watering the lawn and washing cars.
