Snow Results In Slippery Commute, Freeze Warning In Effect Mount Pleasant

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester residents woke up to their first accumulating snow in April in three years Wednesday morning, and while skies have cleared and the rain and wind are also gone, a freeze warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 10 a.m.

Some roads remained slick during the morning commute in Westchester with an accident reported on the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway between Route 100C and Route 100B at 6 a.m. It initially resulted in the closure of two lanes, with one lane reopened by 7 a.m. Heavy delays remain.

Wednesday's high temperature will be near 45 degrees under sunny skies. The combination of the sun and warming temperatures should result in the 1 inch or less of snow that accumulated melting during the day.

But cold will return at night with patchy frost and a low temperature below freezing overnight.

Thursday is expected to be sunny with a high around 50.
