Scarsdale Physician Joins Westmed Medical Group

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Dr. Preeti Kishore of Scarsdale has joined Westmed Medical Group, a Purchase-based multi-specialty group medical practice.

A board-certified endocrinologist, Kishore received her medical degree from Sarojini Naidu Medical College in India and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Jacobi Medical Center Department of Medicine. She was a fellow in endocrinology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Currently, she is also assistant clinical professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center.

Dr. Kishore is a member of a research team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine whose findings about the brain and glucose production were recently published in the "Journal of Clinical Investigation."

Kishore was also quoted in a Time magazine article titled "Overcoming Obesity" that talked about a research breakthrough regarding a link between obesity and heart disease and diabetes.

According to Time writer Alice Park, "What is exciting for us is we can understand the exact processes behind what these fat cells are doing, we can use more targeted medications to treat the consequences of obesity," said Kishore, the lead researcher on the study at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
