The film follows Evangelical minister Rob Schenck and Lucy McBath, the mother of a teenage shooting victim, and asks whether it is possible to be both pro-gun and pro-life. It takes a courageous look at the fractured political culture and makes the bold assertion it is possible for people of differing views and different political beliefs to evolve and find common ground.

“The Armor of Light” is the 17th film in the "Community Matters" series, a partnership between the Westchester Community Foundation and the Jacob Burns Film Center, that aims to provide a forum for civil, civic dialogue on difficult topics.

After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with filmmaker Abigail Disney and Jennifer Barahona of the Newtown Sandy Hook Community Foundation. A reception will follow in the Jane Peck Gallery.

The Westchester Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life in Westchester by addressing community issues, promoting responsible philanthropy and connecting donors to critical local needs.

The Jacob Burns Film Center is at 364 Manville Road, Pleasantville.
