The bank recently appointed Sleepy Hollow resident Gary Solomon as its Vice President, Small Business Lending.

A former manager at the bank's Sleepy Hollow branch, in the new role, he works with the bank's decision process, handling small business credit requests from businesses within the Hudson Valley

"I work closely with bank clients, prospects and support bank employees to uncover borrowing solutions that best fits a business owner's needs, whatever stage of business they are in," Solomon said.

The bank serves a variety of business sizes and industry types including  service, retail, manufacturing and agriculture, said Solomon.

The process can be challenging for new businesses starting out.

Solomon said it is best to have a strong business plan, support from industry mentors and finance professionals guiding them through the process.

He pointed out that New York State, its counties and the bank have access to programs to guide new businesses.

Solomon was born and raised in New York City. He has over 25 years of banking experience in the city and Hudson Valley.

"I've worked directly with business owners providing support with bank products, services and lending options. My new role allows me to further assist business owners through the entire lending process including underwriting and approving loans locally," he said.

Solomon is married with two daughters. He is active in his local community and belongs to the Rotary Club.
