Briarcliff Pool Opening Tops Village Manager's Report

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The following is the Village Manager’s Report from Philip E. Zegarelli:

The Village of Briarcliff Manor's pool is now open. Weekend hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., while weekday hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. 

Permits may be purchased at the Recreation office weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will stay open late until 6 p.m. on Monday, June 20. 

Permits are required for tennis players for play on all Village courts. 

The Village Hall's summer hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday.

There will be no hydrant flushing this week.

Village Treasurer:

Tax bills for 2016-17 should have been delivered and are available for payment online and at Village Hall. The first installment is due July 1. If there's a problem, call the Tax Department at 914-944-2723 before the due date. 

Library and Community Center:

Briarcliff Manor Public Library will host "Online Marketing: Strategies and Tools for an Effective Online Presence" on Tuesday, June 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 

The library needs teen and adult volunteers to run booths at the upcoming School's Out for Summer Party on Wednesday, June 22. Volunteers will need to be there from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. Contact Amy Kaplan at abgkaplan@gmail.com or 914-941-7072 to assist. 

Historic news photographs by Charles N. Ruppmann from the Daily News will be exhibited on the library's second floor until June 29. 

Word Games Group will meet on Tuesdays from June 28 through August 9 from 5:15 to 6 p.m. The group is open to 4th graders and up. Contact Amy Kaplan at abgkaplan@gmail.com or 914-941-7072 to register.

Recreation and Parks:

Day camp registration is still open on a space available basis. 

Several week-long specialty camp programs focused on topics such as LEGO, engineering and movie making are available throughout the summer. 

Register for the 2016 Briarcliff Swimming and Diving Team at the Recreation Office. The program is for children between the ages of 6 and 18. The season runs through Sunday, July 31. 

Mayor and Board of Trustees:

The next meeting will take place Wednesday, June 15, with a W/S at 7 p.m. and a meeting at 8 p.m.
