The shredder will be stationed near the front of the Youth Center at 5 Van Lu Van Road, Zegarilli said.
Village residents can bring up to four file-size (10 inches by 12 inches by 15 inches) of personal documents to shred per household. Not acceptable are business, institutional, and commercial papers; and junk mail, magazines, and newspapers.
Zegarelli also reported that the Con Ed gas main and “telephone pole” replacement projects are still under way in the village. The gas main work down South State Road is nearing completion.

Recreation and Parks: Recreation officials thanked the entire community -- and particular individuals and organizations -- for making the village’s recent Community Day a big success. Getting an extra pat on the back for their efforts were: the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department, the Department of Public Works, and the Briarcliff Manor Rotary Club.
The Recreation Department’s fall brochure is available for viewing and printing on-line at way. Residents are urged to register as soon as possible. To check on a specific program’s availability, call the Recreation Office at (914)-941-6560, or browse the department’s online registration site. If you do not have access to a computer, you may pick up a printed copy of the brochure at the Recreation Office or call (914)-941-6560 to have a copy mailed to you.
The registration deadline for this year’s Fall After School Enrichment Program has passed; however, there may still be space available in certain programs. Contact the Recreation Office for more information.
Upcoming fall events: Halloween window painting will take place Saturday, Oct. 17. The annual Ragamuffin Parade is Saturday, Oct. 31
From the Library and Community Center: Middle School Parent-Child Book Discussion is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Briarcliff Middle School Library. Children in sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grades, accompanied by a parent or other adult, are welcome to discuss the young adult novel, “Mockingbird” by Kathryn Erskine. To get a copy of the book, ask at the main desk of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library.
