Overnight Parking Ban Tops Briarcliff Village Manager's Report

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli is reminding Briarcliff residents that an overnight parking ban is in effect from now through March 31.

Violators face fines, Zegarelli said in his latest report.

Parking is verboten from 2 a.m. - 6 a.m. on any village street, road, or municipal parking lot, he said.

Parking at the village’s Railroad Station lot is prohibited from 3 a.m. - 6 a.m.

In other items in the report:

  • Pocket Park Parking Lot work. A Getty gas station fuel tank upgrade and replacement revealed that a fuel leak that has migrated under the village's “mini” parking lot. It has been working with the state Department of Environmental Conservation to address the situation. Remediation work began Monday, Dec. 7.  Once the lot is temporarily repaired, it will be reopened, Zegarelli said. The project is expected to be complete by this spring.
  • Treasury Department. The second installment of the village’s real estate tax is due by Dec. 31.
  • Police Department. The village’s Police Benevolent Association is conducting a winter coat and a toy drive. The PBA is asking that new or gently used coats and/or new, unwrapped toys be dropped off at police headquarters, 1111 Pleasantville Road, at any time through Friday, Dec. 18. All toys will be delivered to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at the Westchester Medical Center.
  • Fire and Ambulance Corps. The Santa’s Express has been scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 20.
  • Library and Community Center. A candle holder craft workshop for children is set for 3 - 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. The workshop is aimed at children ages 6 - 9, but older children are encouraged to attend as helpers. Registration is required.
