Pleasantville Community TV Upgrades Technology

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Fifteen years ago, PCTV opened its doors at 2 Jackson St. after receiving a grant from Cablevision to equip it with what was "State of the Art" technology at the time.

PCTV has upgraded its system and the studio has received a facelift.

After many years of wear and tear and new technology initiatives in the video and production world, the station recently finished upgrading its studio in September to bring it to high definition standards.

The new equipment includes three new Canon XA25HD professional camcorders, a Newtek Tricaster mini switcher, a Newtek Tricaster mini control surface, a wide screen 24-inch LED monitor, a Sony 17-inch high definition monitor, 1 G-Raid removable 8TB drive and new audio and video cabling for hardware connections.

"None of these upgrades would have been possible without the generous support of the public helping us with sponsorships, attending gala fundraisers, donating to the annual appeal or using the studio and production services on a private basis", said Shane McGaffey, station manager.

Mcgaffey said the station is hoping the new upgrades will attract new producers as well as new private client business.
