The project is part of a $1.9 million roadway plan to widen Route 9A (Saw Mill River Road) from Ashford Avenue to Heatherdell Road by one lane. The construction will substantially increase the length of the existing southbound right-turn lane to Ashford Avenue and add a northbound left-turn lane to the Colonial Court shopping area.

The project is part of the Ridge Hill development in the City of Yonkers and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. Other improvements to the Village of Ardsley as part of the project include new sidewalks, crosswalks, a relocated bus shelter and enhanced signage.
