The incidents occurred on Sept. 11, 13 and 23. A 57-year-old Yonkers woman was sexually assaulted and robbed near 106 Belmont Ave. about 9:53 p.m. Sept 11. A 37-year-old Yonkers woman was the victim of a robbery near 801 Bronx River Road about 8:21 p.m. Sept. 13. A 22-year-old female was the victim of a robbery at 7000 Mall Walk (Cross County Center) about 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

Second Precinct officers who responded to the Sept. 23 robbery scene interviewed the victim and were able to provide valuable suspect information to responding officers. In this incident, the victim’s cellphone was taken by the suspect. The Second Precinct officers at the scene used a phone tracking application and developed information that the suspect was possibly in the area of Getty Square. This application activates a beeping light and sound from the tracked phone.

Fourth Precinct officers went to the area of Getty Square and began to search for a possible suspect. They subsequently observed Blount standing at a bus stop. The suspect was found to be in possession of the victim’s cellphone, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Members of the Detective Division investigated the incident with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. Detectives subsequently developed information to link the suspect to the Belmont Avenue and Bronx River Road crimes in addition to the robbery at 7000 Mall Walk.

The suspect is currently at the Westchester County Jail. He was indicted on numerous charges, including first-degree rape and first-degree robbery.
