Village Hall Summer Hours Tops Briarcliff Manor Village Manager's Report

The village hall beginning Friday, June 3, will be open for an extra half-hour for its summer hours, Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Village Treasurer:

Your 2016-2017 tax bills were mailed on Thursday, May 26. After Wednesday, June 1, you will be able to pay your tax bill online and at the village hall. The first installment is due July 1 or a 5 percent penalty will be imposed. Reach out to the Tax Department at 944-3723 before the due date.

Library/Community Center:

Alan Sklar reads short story, "Jug of Silver," by Truman Capote Thursday, June 2, 7 to 8 p.m.

The Korean War: Not Forgotten, Sunday, June 5, 2 to 3:30 p.m. John O’Loughlin, a former history teacher who served in Korea, will present this slide presentation about the Korean War.

Teen and adult volunteers are needed at the library for its annual school's out for summer party Wednesday, June 22, the last day of school, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers need to be at the libary at 5:45 p.m. and stay until 7:45 p.m. Contact Amy Kaplan at abgkaplan@gmail.com or 941-7072.

BMFD Ambulance Corp.:

Emergency Medical Technicians are needed. A special summer EMT course will begin in early June at the Hoch Center for Emergency Education at Phelps Memorial Hospital. It is open to 18 years and older. There is no tuition for for members of the BMFD. Parks and Recreation:

The 2016 summer day camp runs July 5 to Aug 5. Register at  www.briarcliffmanor.org.

Specialty one-week camp programs in "PlayWell Teknologies", LEGO, "Engineering for Kids", "IncredFlix" movie making, and sports are offered. Seek out the Recreation (department) brochure for information and dates.
