THORNWOOD, N.Y. - Dennis Santare of Thornwood died Sept. 1. He was 66.
Santare was born Sept. 15, 1946, the son of Anthony and Christina Santare. After serving for many years as a history teacher in the Bronx, he retired as middle school principal in the Pearl River School District in Rockland County.
Santare is survived by his wife, MaryEllen Santare; children, Dennis, Kristine and Carrie; two grandchildren; and brothers Kenneth and Anthony. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 3 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sept. 4 at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Holy Innocents Church, 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville. Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Flushing
