Funeral Scheduled For Ossining Resident Killed In Route 22 Crash

Services for an Ossining man killed in a head-on crash on Monday in Putnam have been set for Thursday and Friday.

Louis Arpi, 56, died as the result of trauma injuries he sustained in a head-on collision between the car he was driving and another vehicle on Route 22 near the intersection of Thunder Ridge Road in Patterson.

Calling hours for Arpi will be Thursday, Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home, 91 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday,  Oct. 13 at St. Ann's Church, 25 Eastern Ave., Ossining. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery, 104 Havell St., Ossining.

Apri was driving alone when a woman tried to pass a tractor-trailer but couldn't make it before hitting Arpi's car head-on, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department said.

Arpi was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman received minor injuries.

A native of Ecuador, Apri is survived by his wife, Maria, and sons, Luis, Brian and Kevin.
