SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Roy A. Funderburk, most recently of Saratoga Springs and formerly of Thornwood, died Feb.13. He was 91.
Funderburk was born March 31, 1922, to Virgil and Rosa Funderburk in Cooter, Mo. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1948. After receiving a discharge he became a member of the White Plains Police Department from 1951 to 1971. Upon his retirement from the police force, he worked for another 23 years at the Home Savings Bank in White Plains.
Funderburk is survived by his daughter, Anita Harding; and a granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Margaret Funderburk.
Calling hours are Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Entombment at the Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
