40 Firefighters Battle Blaze At Six-Story Apartment Building In Westchester

A fire broke out in a unit of a six-story apartment complex in Westchester late Wednesday morning.

The fire alarm came in at 11:45 a.m. at 30 Locust Hill Ave. in Yonkers, said Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief of Personnel Daniel Flynn.

Responding firefighters were able to contain the one-alarm fire to the one apartment and the fire was declared under control by 12:08 p.m., Flynn said.

Approximately 40 firefighters and officers responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, Flynn added.

No injuries were reported.
