A Mohegan Lake man working for the United Parcel Service on Front Street in Yorktown Heights is facing a felony charge after allegedly stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise, according to investigators from the Yorktown Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the UPS Customer Center at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 21, where there was a report of an employee that allegedly stole a T-Mobile cell phone and Apple iPhone with a value of $1,325, prompting an investigation.
Police said that the ongoing investigation led them to 22-year-old Lylle Ryals, who was contacted by police this week and voluntarily surrendered himself into police custody on shortly before 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, where he was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
Following arraignment, Ryals was released on $100 cash bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 26 to answer the charge.
