New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a Furnace Dock Road home in Cortlandt at approximately 3:45 p.m. on May 12, where there was a report of a domestic dispute that had turned physical.

According to police, the investigation determined that Cortlandt resident Nicholas Luciano, 24, was involved in a physical incident, during which he strangled and prevented his victim from calling for help.

He also allegedly pushed his victim over, which caused a child under the age of 17 to fall down a front of a set of stairs. Luciano allegedly then punched a hole in the wall before fleeing on foot.

Luciano was tracked down and arrested the following day and charged with misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, preventing an emergency call and criminal mischief in damaging property. Following arraignment, Luciano was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. An Order of Protection was also granted by the court in favor of the victims. Luciano is due back in the Town of Cortlandt Court later this year to answer the charges.
