Norwalk 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team Takes 28-0 Mark Into Title Game

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Girls Basketball Association 8th grade team will play Wilton for the A Division championship of the Fairfield County Basketball League.

Norwalk, 28-0, meets Wilton on Sunday at Middlesex Middle School in Darien. Tip-off is at 5:20 p.m.

Norwalk defeated Southbury and Milford to gain the final while Wilton defeated Newtown and Stamford to force a third meeting this season. Norwalk defeated Wilton, 42-12, in December and 53-26 on Feb. 15.

Norwalk beat Southbury in the quarterfinals, 42-35. Trailing 10-8 after one quarter, Norwalk outscored Southbury, 27-12, in the middle periods to grab a 35-22 lead and cruise to the semifinals. Olivia Davis paced Norwalk with 11 points while Sanaa Boyd pumped in 10 points. Michelle Perea added seven while Ashley Wilson scored six. Jocelyn Mullins and Janelle Johnson each added four points.

Norwalk defeated Milford in the semifinals, 40-29, after leading 38-13 after three quarters. All nine players scored, led by Wilson with 11 points. Kaitlyn Davis added eight points while Perea scored six and Olivia Davis tallied five. Tamia Fulton added three points while Sawyer Milillo, Aija Andrews, Sanaa Boyd each scored two points.
