17-Year-Old Charged With Harassing Staff Member At School In Northern Westchester

A teenage student in Northern Westchester was taken into custody by police after allegedly harassing a teacher who requested police intervention at a BOCES campus.

The Yorktown Police Department received a complaint from a teacher at the BOCES Fox Meadow campus on Oct. 10, where there was a report of an altercation between a student and staff member.

According to police, after conducting an investigation into the incident, at the staff member’s request, a criminal summons was obtained from the Yorktown Justice Court for a harassment charge.

Officers arrested the 17-year-old student - whose name is being withheld due to his status as a potential youthful offender - at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 at his Bedford home. 

The officers served him his criminal summons and he is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Nov. 8 to respond to the harassment charge.
