Anti-Bullying Speaker John Halligan Returns To Valhalla

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Anti-bullying advocate John Halligan is visiting Valhalla Middle/High School twice on Thursday, Oct. 30, to relay his son's story, as well as advice to parents and students about school-based bullying and cyberbullying at 7 p.m.

The lecture for parents will take place in the VMHS auditorium. Earlier in the day, Halligan was scheduled to meet with the VMS sixth-grade students.

A note from the administration:

"The Valhalla Middle High School PTSA will be hosting a program on the impact of bullying, cyberbullying, and youth depression. Halligan will lead a presentation designed for parents and families on what they should know about bullying, its impact and signs to look out for.

Halligan is the father of Ryan Patrick Halligan, who ended his life by suicide following repeated incidents of bullying. While he will be sharing some personal details of his tremendous loss, we all believe that the presentation will enlighten all on the signs and impact of bullying."
