HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- “Giving” was the theme of this year’s holiday toy drive at Hawthorne Elementary School.
Gifts donated by students’ families and school staff were collected for Hope’s Door, an agency that serves women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
Boxes and boxes of games, toys, crafts and stuffed animals were collected during the month of December for boys and girlsfrom birth to age15.
Santa came to the school to congratulate the students on their generosity, telling them that by giving they will make other kids happy.
