The program, run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, distributes toys to children in need during the Christmas season. The Toys for Tots efforts at Kensico School began approximately five years ago by now-retired teacher Kathy Adams. Fifth-grade teacher Lisa Gonzalez organized this year’s toy drive at Kensico.

"Our children are happy to help the community. This season is about sharing and learning. It brings them joy to give," said Gonzalez.

Donations ranged from coloring books, puzzles and card games to jewelry-making sets, toy cars and craft boxes.
