Grant Becker, dressed like an entrepreneur in a black suit and maroon tie, talked to Anastos about the Gogo Bike, an invention he said was inspired by one of his fourth-grade classmates who uses a wheelchair. The detachable bike fits on any standard wheelchair.
In the interview posted on YouTube, Grant told Anastos the advice he'd give to other young inventors, "If you love to invent, make sure that you do it for a cause and you do it to help someone.”
Grant's other inventions include a bicycle he mounted with boogie boards to be used by people in a flood area to get around.
"Helping people is a really great to do. I love inventing and I thought I'd put the two together and try to help people," he said.
Next, he might invent a suit to play sports in, he told Anastos.
"I think a suit that you wear," he said. "I play hockey. If you had a suit that would cool you off somehow I think that would be really great for sports."
Grant was a finalist in the Warren Buffett's Grow Your Own Business Challenge for his Gogo Bike.
