Out of more than 2,000 public and private high schools nationwide, Pleasantville was listed as the No. 303 most challenging school.
Of the New York high schools that made the list, Pleasantville was ranked as the 23rd most challenging. The school was the sixth-highest ranking in Westchester County, with Bronxville High School at No. 6, Rye High School at No. 10, Irvington High School at No. 17, Edgemont High School at No. 18 and Dobbs Ferry High School at No. 19.
The rankings are based on each school’s index score. These scores are determined by the number of college-level tests given at a school each year and divided by the number of seniors who graduated that same year, the Post explains.
Nationwide, American Indian Public Charter in Oakland, Calif., was rated as the No. 1 most challenging school. In the state, Connecticut IB Academy in East Hartford ranked at No. 1.
