PTA Marks Inclusive Schools Week With 'Life, Animated' Showing At Greeley

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- When students return from February break, it will be National Inclusive Schools Week. To mark the week, two Chappaqua PTA groups will hold a screening of the movie "LIFE, ANIMATED."

The screening will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., according to an announcement from the Chappaqua school district. It will take place at Horace Greeley High School's iLab. The event is co-sponsored by two branches of the Chappaqua PTA: the Greeley PTA, along with the broader PTA's Special Education Committee.

"From Academy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams, LIFE, ANIMATED is the inspirational story of Owen Suskind, a young man with autism who was unable to speak as a child until he and his family discovered a unique way to communicate by immersing themselves in the world of classic Disney animated films," a promotional announcement states. "This emotional coming-of-age story follows Owen as he graduates to adulthood and takes his first steps toward independence."
