Valhalla High School Senior Kaio DaSilva Honored At Sports Awards Banquet

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla High School senior Kaio DaSilva was recently honored at LoHud's Con Edison "Athlete of the Week" banquet.

The banquet recognized all of the "Athlete of the Week" award winners of the 2015-16 academic year. It took place at the Renaissance Hotel on June 1.

The "Athlete of the Week" program recognizes students in Westchester and Putnam Counties that excel athletically. Factors such as academic achievements, leadership, citizenship and school and community activities are also considered.

DaSilva signed a letter of intent earlier this year, and will attend Old Domionion University in Norfolk, Va. on a soccer scholarship.

He began playing soccer at the age of six and joined Valhalla's junior varsity team in seventh grade. DaSilva joined the varsity team in the eighth grade.
