The foursome qualified for the national event by winning their local Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational tournament held on Sept. 3, 2013, at Mamaroneck's Winged Foot Golf Club, which supported the Association for the Advancement of the Blind & Retarded.

The Liberty Mutual Invitational National Finals caps a series of more than 70 charity golf tournaments around the country in 2013 hosted by Liberty Mutual and local and national charitable organizations that raised more than $5.6 million for charity.

A portion of the proceeds from the National Finals will support American Red Cross Moore County and Moore Free Care Clinic. “This foursome represents 11,000 golfers who generously supported more than 50 charities through our series of amateur golf events, and we look forward to celebrating at Pinehurst their invaluable contributions to their communities,” said Paul Alexander, Liberty Mutual Insurance chief communications officer. Liberty Mutual also announced Wednesday that two-time U.S. Open Champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Curtis Strange will serve as the program’s honorary chairman for 2014, and will help present the charitable gifts in Pinehurst.

“I am proud and honored to support the Liberty Mutual Invitational, a series that has raised $21.7 million for so many great charities in just four years,” Strange said.
