East Fishkill Man Charged With Drug Possession After Traffic Stop LAGRANGE, N.Y. -- An East Fishkill man was scheduled to appear in LaGrange Town Court on Monday to answer drug-possession charges, New York State Police at Poughkeepsie said. State police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Andrew S. Bitteker, 25, of East Fishkill, on a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, on Nov. 24. Troopers stopped Bitteker in the area of Route 376 and Walker Road for failing to maintain his designated lane of travel. Cortlandt Gains Approval To Buy Quarry Site From Con Edison CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The town of Cortlandt has gained approval to buy a former quarry from Con Edison, according to a report in The Examiner. Town officials have been trying to purchase the 99-acre site in Verplanck to prevent construction of a high-voltage converter station there, The Examiner reported.
